LIGONIER (KDKA) — The new wave pool was debuted today at Idlewild Park and Soak Zone.
It was also media day at the park.
Guests flocked to the new “Wowabunga” wave pool to escape today’s scorching temperatures.
The wave pool will run for seven minutes at a time, with 10 minute breaks in between. A siren will sound to let guests know when the waves are coming.
The wave pool replaces the park’s old pool, which had been operating since 1931.
It’s the only wave pool in Westmoreland County.
Idlewild Park was honored as best kid’s park in the world earlier this year.
It opens daily for the season starting today.
